Disturbed is an American rock band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 1996 when musicians Dan DoneganSteve "Fuzz" Kmak, and Mike Wengren hired David Draiman as their singer. Since the band's formation, they have sold over 11 million albums worldwide, making them one of the largest grossing rock bands in recent years.[1] The band has released three consecutive studio albums that have debuted at number-one on the Billboard 200.[2]

Linkin Park

 

Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura HillsCalifornia. Formed in 1996, the band rose to international fame with their debut album, Hybrid Theory, which was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005 and multi-platinum in several other countries.[1] Its following studio album, Meteora, continued the band's success, topping the Billboard 200’s album charts in 2003, and was followed by extensive touring and charity work around the world.[2] In 2003, MTV2 named Linkin Park the sixth greatest band of the music video era and the third best of the new millennium behind Oasis and Coldplay.[3]

Having adapted the nu metal and rap metal genres to a radio-friendly yet densely-layered style in Hybrid Theory and Meteora,[4][5][6] the band explored other genres in their next studio album, Minutes to Midnight, which was released in 2007.[7][8] The album topped the Billboard charts and had the third best debut week of any album that year.[9][10] The band has collaborated with several other artists, most notably with rapper Jay-Z in their mashup albumCollision Course, and many others on Reanimation.[5] Linkin Park has sold over 50 million albums worldwide[11] and won two Grammy Awards.[12][13]

Jon Bon Jovi

 

Bon Jovi is an American rock band from Sayreville, New Jersey. Formed in 1983, Bon Jovi consists of lead singer and namesake Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, former bassist Alec John Such, as well as current bassist Hugh McDonald.[6] The band's line-up has remained mostly static during their 26-year history, the only exception being the departure of Alec John Such in 1994, who was unofficially replaced by Hugh McDonald. The band have become known for writing several rock anthems, and achieved widespread recognition with their third albumSlippery When Wet, released in 1986. Bon Jovi are well-known for songs including "Livin' on a Prayer", which has become their signature song, as well as "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Wanted Dead or Alive", "Bad Medicine", "Keep the Faith", "Bed of Roses", "Always", "It's My Life" and "Have a Nice Day".Their latest hit single is "We Weren't Born to Follow."

After prolifically touring and recording during the late 1980s, the band went on hiatus following the New Jersey Tour in 1990, during which time Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora both released successful solo albums. In 1992, the band returned with the album Keep the Faith and have since created successful albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Their 2000 single "It's My Life", which followed a second hiatus, successfully introduced the band to a younger audience. Bon Jovi have been known to use different styles in their music, which have ranged to country for their 2007 album Lost Highway. Their latest album, The Circle, was released on 10 November 2009 in the United States.

Throughout their career, the band have released eleven studio albums, two compilation albums and one live album, and have sold over 120 million albums worldwide.[7] They have performed more than 2,600 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 34 million fans,[8] and were inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006.[9] The band was also honored with the Award of Merit at the American Music Awards in 2004,[10] and as songwriters and collaborators, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009.[11]

Three Days Grace

 

Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band, formed in NorwoodOntario, Canada in 1992, under the name Groundswell. After a breakup in 1995, the band reformed in 1997 under its current name and with a line-up consisting of guitarist and lead vocalistAdam Gontier, drummer and backing vocalist Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst. In 2003, Barry Stock was recruited as the band's lead guitarist.

After signing to Jive Records, Three Days Grace released two studio albums, Three Days Grace in 2003 and One-X in 2006, both of which have been certified platinum and double platinum in the United States and Canada, respectively. In 2007, the band was declared number one rock artist of the year by Billboard and was the number four artist in airplay in Canada that same year. The band's third album, Life Starts Now, was released on September 22, 2009.
